"Do we need the second anchor for category 3 regattas and from which category does the life raft for racing come on board?" How big does the contactor need to be for category 4 and what charts do we need for the sea area?"

Whether it's North Sea Week, Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) or ORC World Championship, you can't do it without good safety equipment preparation. This section is about equipping your yacht according to the World Sailing Special Regulations. According to which category their regatta is sailed, can be read in each case in the invitation or sailing instructions. The current version of the World Sailing Special Regulations can be read here.

The Special Regulations can also be used very well as a suggestion for the equipment of a cruising yacht. The categories are numbered consecutively, with category 4 being used for inshore racing  and then with decreasing number the rules are tightened. We have prepared here the common categories 4, 3 and 2. Gladly we advise you also beyond that.
We are happy to go through the checklist with you before your event and equip your boat, for example, for the ARC with the necessary safety equipment. The articles deposited here are to be understood as a first suggestion and will be gladly supplemented in individual cases.
